Learning Objectives

This course aims to enable participants to implement MV88E6390X switches. Participants get a detailed understanding of the switch feature. Attendees will learn how to design a board based on this switch and connect it to a management CPU. All stages between ingress port and egress port will be studied, in particular VTU, ATU and STU table operations and TCAM programming.
Prerequisites and related courses

Knowledge of Ethernet (802.3) and Bridging (802.1) is recommended, see course NET_STD_ETH.
Knowledge of Precise Time Protocol (IEEE1588v2) is recommended, see course NET_STD_PTP.
Hands-on

Wireshark and Marvell evaluation board are used to capture and display Ethernet traffic to facilitate the understanding of the protocol.
